2016 Chevrolet Cruze

Since its first launch in 2011, the Chevrolet Cruze is set
to undergo a complete redesign to hook it with new modern
touches. This new Cruze is Chevrolet’s most selling model and
the automaker hopes to continue the sales momentum with the new
2016 Chevrolet Cruze. The new vehicle will be sleeker with a
coupe-like body, more spacious, fuel efficient and with up to
date technology features.

New Chevrolet Cruze 2016 Exterior

The new Chevrolet Cruze will shed around 250 pounds due to the
manufacture’s use of lightweight materials such as aluminum and
high-strength steel. The new design takes a wedge shape and
borrows much from the sister models i.e. the Chevrolet Malibu
and Impala while its aerodynamics borrow from the Chevrolet
Volt plug-in hybrid.

The new aerodynamics will impact on its fuel economy. The
vehicle features a torsion-beam rear axle, with the top trim
featuring an enhanced “Z-link’ (Watt’s linkage). Other exterior
features will include a stylish grille design with narrow
headlights on the front. The rear of the Cruze will spot a
short deck and a subtle rear spoiler which adds to the
vehicle’s aero efficiency as well as complement its sloping
back end. The new vehicle is slightly longer than the
predecessor model by about 2.7 inches.

2016 Chevrolet Cruze Interior

This vehicle is known for its handsome interior and the new
model does not disappoint. New features include a wireless
phone charging option, Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system,
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which make it possible for
drivers to operate many of Smartphone functions through the
car’s touchscreen. Other features include an OnStar 4G LTE with
a built-in WiFi hotspot. The interior will feature a new piano
black and matte black finish.

The next-gen of 2016 Chevrolet Cruze will be offered
in four trim levels i.e. L, LS, LT and Premier will also
feature leather upholstery, heated leather seats as well as a
leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel. For safety purposes,
higher trim levels will feature a blind spot monitoring system,
a lane keep assist function, forward collision warning, and
rear cross-traffic alert. A rearview camera will come as
standard for all trim levels. The rear seat has plenty of leg
and foot room even for tall passengers.

Engine, Specs and Performance

Under the hood of the new 2016 Chevrolet Cruze you will find a
new turbocharged engine. Now, turbocharging used to be an
option for higher trim levels in predecessor models. The new
powertrain will be a 1.4L turbocharged inline-4 engine that
will produce 153 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. This engine will
be mated with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed auto transmission

The new Chevrolet will move from 0-60 mph in only 8 seconds and
will have a fuel economy of 40 mpg on the highway with the
automatic transmission system but this number is yet to be
confirmed by EPA. All automatic variants will feature a
gas-saving stop/start technology that puts the engine off at
stoplights. Rumors indicate that the 2017 model will feature a
1.6 L turbodiesel engine which will be the best diesel engine
in the industry when it comes out.

Price and release date

No official information has been released by the automaker
about its price and release date; however, we expect the 2016
Chevrolet Cruze to be released in early 2016. The base trim of
the model is expected to cost around $17,000.
