2016 Volkswagen Jetta

Volkswagen Jetta has managed to remain competitive over
the years despite the ever increasing competition in the sedan
market segment. This success is anchored on its ability to
deliver a host of superb factors such as excellent handling,
outstanding reliability, exceptional fuel economy and a
spacious interior.

Volkswagen Jetta 2016 Exterior

The four-door 2016 Volkswagen Jetta sedan will have a slightly
bigger body. The new dimensions are 189.1 inches wide, 73
inches wide and 55.8 inches in height. It will also have a
wheelbase of 106.7 inches. The redesigned model will also
feature 17, 18 or 19 inch wheels depending on the model.

Most of the exterior will be unaltered from the 2015 model. The
grille will be larger and will incorporate Golf’s trademark red
stripe. A new black stripe will run through the grille’s
center. The previous vertical fog lights have been replaced
with horizontal ones. Black inserts on the bumper will be
smaller to give the vehicle a sportier look. Around the back,
the car will have its trunk door stretching long behind the
car. Also its LED taillights have been redesigned.

The bumper has also been redesigned and will feature a diffuser
like piece as well as a pair of exhausts and a remodeled truck
lid. The SEL and SE trim levels will feature 18-inch (Mallory
designed) alloy wheels covered with either the standard
all-season tires or summer performance tires.

indicate that the sedan will adopt many features from the
7th generation of the VW Golf.  The much
awaited MIB II infotainment system makes its debut in the new
2016 Volkswagen Jetta. This system will be fixed in the TSI and
TDI S trim levels with a 5-inch touch screen. Higher trims will

Engine Specs and Performance

News from the auto maker indicates that the new Volkswagen
Jetta will get a new engine. The previous 2.0 L naturally
aspirated engine will be replaced with a new 1.4 L turbocharged
4-cylinder engine. The new engine will produce 150 hp and 184

According to Volkswagen, the new engine will improve the sedans
fuel economy by 15 % to a new rating of 39 mpg combined
compared to the retiring engines. The engine has a compact
single-scroll compressor intake and exhaust valve timing, an
intercooler with injection-molded induction pipe and dual
overhead cams. It has a 10.0:1 compression ratio. This engine
will spread through other Volkswagen models such as the Golf
and Beetle.

One of the options that will be offered is the 2.0 TDI
turbocharged diesel engine with 150 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque,
fuel consumption is reduced and is approximately 48 mpg
combined. All engines will be mated to a 6 speed automatic
and manual transmissions. Volkswagen Jetta will accelerate
from 0-60 mph in about 7.2 seconds and will reach the top speed
of 126 mph, which is decent data for a small family sedan.

The new 2016 Volkswagen Jetta GLI will have a 2.0 TSI turbo
engine with 210 horsepower originally from Golf GTI.
New Jetta GLI will have a 0-60 mph acceleration of 6
